Celvolit - Emulsions
Celvolit® emulsions are utilized in a wide variety of end-use applications within the building and construction segment. Applications include 2K cementitious waterproofing coatings, concrete bonding primers, bonding agent, RDP (redispersible powders) wallboard joint compounds, dust control and soil stabilization. Additionally, Celvolit® emulsions are commonly used in several other industry segments including paints and coatings (e.g. architectural paint binder), adhesives (e.g. packaging), and textile (e.g. carpet-backing adhesives).
Celvolit® is recommended for 2K cementitious waterproofing coating with low odor and low emission.
What is Celvolit®?
Celvolit® global product portfolio consists of a range of different emulsions based on several polymer chemistries, providing a broad range of performance characteristics critical to their targeted end uses. For example, when used in 2K cementitious waterproofing, Celvolit® vinyl acrylic emulsions (VAE) provide excellent pot-life and ease of application, while meeting or exceeding critical performance requirements. On the other hand, several Celvolit® viny acrylic (PVA) based emulsions have been used in field-applied dust control, overcoming a wide range of specific environmental challenges to reduce airborne dust in many successful real-life examples.
Key Celvolit® Uses:
- 2K Cementitious waterproofing coatings
- Concrete primers & admixes
- Wallboard joint compound
- Dust control and soil stabilization
- Paper packaging and converting
- Paints & coatings
- Carpet backing
- Bonding agent
- Redispersible polymer powder
- Wood working
- Film lamination
- Tobacco glue
Celvolit® provides exceptional tensile strengthen retention after water curing, is long-term water resistance, has good adhesion to various substrates, and has excellent hand-feel when applying. Celvolit® is also the recommended bonding agent for adhesive, permeability, tinting strength, cement compatibility, and dilution stability.
In addition, Celvolit® is excellent for adhesive compounding, such as for packaging and paper converting, woodworking, textile lamination and tobacco application. It delivers strong adhesion and operation performance for a vast number of industries. Using Celvolit® emulsions also means low odor and low TVOC because of the products’ ability to control harmful chemicals and provides an eco-friendly experience for the final consumer.
Celvolit® emulsion is also an essential ingredient to enhance critical properties of modern polymer-modified mortars such as adhesion, cohesion, flexibility, and workability. Moreover, our products allow manufacturers to formulate finished products with low volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions in accordance with demanding governmental regulations.
Celvolit® is also recommended for paints and coatings with low odor, low emission and good scrub resistance and elongation balance.
Celvolit® also works well with film substrates such as window patching (PET/PVC/OPS), BOPP folder carton making, PVC file making and book binding. This vinyl acetate ethylene copolymer can be used in textile lamination such as general lamination, shoe-in-sole and bra-making. In the woodworking industry, it is used in PVC overlay, membrane press and EPI wood glue.
