Chimed and Flat Panel Bolted Steel Tanks for Water Storage
Superior Tank offers both chimed and flat panel bolted steel tanks to meet the various needs of our customers. Our chimed steel tanks are designed to the American Petroleum Institute (API) 12B standard and range in size from 4,000 to 2,000,000 gallons. In addition to petrochemical and oil storage, our chimed bolted steel tanks are well suited for storage of potable water, wastewater, water for fire protection and dry bulk materials. When additional capacity is needed, one of our flat panel bolted steel tanks can offer up to 3,500,000 gallons capacity without compromising strength or durability. Unlike other flat panel designs on the market, our steel does not thin at the edges, therefore maintaining maximum strength throughout the panel.
Both our chimed bolted steel tanks and flat panel tanks are manufactured to the same high quality standards and provide the features and benefits:
- Gaskets of heavy duty EPDM, Buna N or Viton eliminate gaps and mastic ooze
- Single, double and triple row gaskets prevent leaks between rows
- Powder coated finish on BOTH interior and exterior for greater durability
- Powder coated parts and fittings for outstanding corrosion resistance
- Hot dipped galvanized steel tanks and components also available
- SiZr (Silica Zirconium) underseal to prevent coating undercutting and the spread of corrosion when coating damage occurs due to dropped tool or thrown rock
- Full steel thickness throughout entire panel without edge thinning providing maximum strength
