Bolted steel water storage tanks are nothing new and have been used for decades with great levels of success. These tanks are sometimes referred to as a “Tank in a Box” due to the modular design of bolted steel tanks, which allows them to be packed and easily shipped anywhere in the world. Commonly, tanks are shipped via truck or standard shipping container. Tank kits come complete with hardware and fittings, and are ready to erect upon arrival. When properly designed, manufactured and installed, a “Tank in a Box” meets a wide variety of applications.

Superior Tank offers both chimed and flat panel bolted steel tanks to meet the various needs of our customers. Our chimed steel tanks are designed to the American Petroleum Institute (API) 12B standard and range in size from 4,000 to 2,000,000 gallons.  In addition to petrochemical and oil storage, our chimed bolted steel tanks are well suited for storage of potable water, wastewater, water for fire protection and dry bulk materials. When additional capacity is needed, one of our flat panel bolted steel tanks can offer up to 3,500,000 gallons capacity without compromising strength or durability. Unlike other flat panel designs on the market, our steel does not thin at the edges, therefore maintaining maximum strength throughout the panel.

Superior Tank designs, fabricates and erects welded steel storage tanks for the oil and water industries. Our welded tanks are well suited for storage of potable water, waste water, water for fire protection as well as crude oil and other petrochemicals. As Superior Tank custom manufactures the tank components, we are able to meet the needs of various projects and our welded tanks can be engineered to comply with a range of industry standards including AWWA D-100, API 12D, API-650 and NFPA-22. Our welded steel tanks feature field applied coatings specifically designed for the liquid stored such as raw water, drinking water and waste water as well as corrosive liquids such as crude oil, biofuels and brine water.

As another storage tank alternative, Superior Tank offers 304 and 316 stainless steel storage tanks in both a bolted and welded tank design. Our stainless steel storage tanks are a great option for numerous applications and are designed to securely hold both very corrosive and non-corrosive liquids in a clean and sanitary manner. Stainless steel bolted storage tanks are used in industries such as food processing, agriculture and chemical storage as the stainless steel does not react with the tank contents. We offer stainless steel bolted tanks in a wide range of capacities and configurations to meet the project requirements. In addition to stainless steel liquid storage tanks we can also design stainless steel storage silos. For select applications, we can also provide tanks without coating.
