ClearSign Eye - Pilot Sensor for Flame Detection
The ClearSign Eye™ Pilot Sensor offers an advanced solution for flame detection, leveraging its innovative design to ensure reliability and ease of integration into existing systems. This sensor is equipped with two electrodes that send and receive signals through the flame's ionization field, allowing accurate and responsive detection without direct contact. Designed for the rigorous demands of the refining, chemical, and petrochemical industries, the sensor’s stainless-steel construction enhances durability and longevity. Its retrofit version simplifies replacement of traditional flame rods using existing mounting infrastructure, minimizing downtime. The sensor operates with high precision, distinguishing pilot flames from main burner flames, and supports standard industry burner pilots regardless of the manufacturer. It outputs a dry contact relay signal and a 4-20ma output, interfacing seamlessly with DIN rail mountable control modules. This robust device minimizes maintenance requirements, with design considerations extending beyond typical turnaround cycles, providing optimal performance even in remote and challenging industrial settings.

The ClearSign Eye™ Pilot Sensor consists of two sensing electrodes situated at the periphery of a flame. A signal is sent from the sending electrode to the receiving electrode through the ionization field of the flame. This signal is then transmitted to the electronics at the base of the unit and back to the control module. The control module analyzes the signal and measures the capacitance between the emitting and receiving electrodes, thereby determining the presence and intensity of a flame.
The ClearSign Eye™ RetroFit Pilot Sensor is designed to directly replace flame rods on installed burners without requiring any modification to the existing mounting plate. The sensor assembly is installed using the existing flame rod mounting plate hole.
