Clevebio Amnite - Model N500 -Ammonia and Nitrite Oxidation Product
The product contains a heterogeneous mix of both ammonia-oxidising and nitrite-oxidising bacteria with Nitrosomonas europaea and Nitrobacter winogradskyi being the predominant strains. The product has an activity level of 500 mg N oxidised/h/Kg product and is supplied in a liquid form. The product needs to be stored in the 4-10°C temperature range.
Nitrifying bacteria are very slow growing bacteria which cannot carry out the nitrification process efficiently in the presence of high levels of organic solids. In addition these bacteria also have a requirement for a high level of dissolved oxygen. The product is most effective when the operating conditions in the treatment plant are close to the optimum listed below:
Amnite N500 has been formulated to oxidise both ammonia and nitrite in waste waters under aerobic conditions. The bacteria in the product can be readily incorporated into the biomass of the treatment plant and the oxidation process starts immediately on adding the product. The product is suitable for establishing nitrification in newly constructed or seasonally operated plants, to reseed a plant after a toxic shock or to improve the efficiency of the existing biomass. The high activity of the product ensures a rapid recovery of the nitrification ability after the process has been affected by a toxic shock. Ammonia removal is also necessary in Koi carp fish ponds to ensure that pond water quality is maintained.
Amnite N500 is a liquid product which can rapidly oxidise both ammonia and nitrite under aerobic conditions. The product is homogeneous and safe to use. It does not contain any pathogens.
