The Profiler Buoy `Mona` provides a comprehensive solution for both commercial and research applications, designed to monitor ongoing changes in the marine environment. Equipped with customisable sensors for measuring critical parameters such as temperature, salinity, and microbiology, `Mona` sends sensors to the sea bottom via an onboard winch, collecting data throughout the descent. Traditional marine data collection methods are costly, with vessel operations accounting for approximately 80% of total monitoring budgets. By anchoring in a single location for extended periods, `Mona` drastically cuts the need for continuous vessel deployment, significantly reducing costs.
