OPAL-RT - Model OP4610XG -Compact Mid-Range Simulator
The OP4610XG is OPAL-RT’s new compact mid-range simulator in its XG series and the successor of the popular OP4510. The OP4610XG is a powerful all-in-one solution in a compact desktop form factor that combines the latest AMD RyzenTM processing cores with the power of a Xilinx® Kintex®-7 410T FPGA while supporting an extensive list of communication protocols to meet the requirements for demanding Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) applications.
OPAL-RT is taking real-time simulation to another level with the new XG series. The new OPAL-RT operating system OPAL-RT Linux 3, combined with Intel’s or AMD’s latest technologies and our unique toolboxes, allow engineers to benefit from an unmatched performance to simulate, test, integrate and validate innovative products and solutions.
Performance
Up to 1.8x faster. The new XG series system is capable of simulating larger and more complex power systems, power electronics or microgrid models using fewer cores.
Reliability
Benefit from maximum reliability and availability?by using a server-grade motherboard and CPU.
Accuracy
The XG series allows users to simulate models with a smaller time step for better accuracy. The number of cores on a single simulator range from 4 to 44.
Powered by Intel® or AMD
OPAL-RT’s XG series is based on Intel® or AMD processors. Benefit from decades of innovation from the two leaders in CPU technology that brings world-changing technologies to the market.
Connect your devices and systems without limitation. Onboard expansion slots accommodate up to four analog and digital I/O modules, with signal conditioning to support a combination of up to 64 fast analog or 128 digital channels.
The OP4610XG supports up to 4 SFP multi-mode fiber optic modules and LVDS or fiber optic synchronization for high-speed communication and synchronization between devices and expansion units. Easily expand the simulation and I/O capacity using other OPAL-RT FPGA and I/O expansion units.
The OP4610XG uses an AMD processor to enable real-time computing of very large models, as well as a Kintex®-7 410T FPGA to include ultra-fast loop time for fast-switching frequency real-time simulation. All this computing power is available in a single rack-mounted chassis and is compact enough to be used easily on a desktop. Benefit from parallel processing to perform high-fidelity real-time electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation of large and complex systems, as well as an FPGA for high-frequency power electronics applications.
