KMG - Compact Pipe System
Compact Pipe provides the old existing pipeline with a new close-fitting pipe inside the old one. The new Compact Pipe fully takes over the function of the existing pipeline. The main components of the main system is the pipe, made from regular high quality Polyethylene, it is supplied in continuous length, wound on sturdy metal drums. The pipe is folded along its length into a C-shape. This pipe can easily be inserted into the existing pipeline. On site the pipe is taken directly from the drum, which for that purpose usually is held by a dispensing unit on a trailer. The winch cable can be connected to the pulling head fixed to the Compact Pipe.
The pipe’s axial flexibility allows direct insertion via small access shafts minimizing the amount of excavation that is required.
Once inserted the Compact Pipe ends are sealed and purposely built installation unit is activated to a supply steam and compressed air. Steam is fed into the Compact Pipe to trigger off the memory effect of the polyethylene, reverting the pipe to near on its original round shape. Subsequently, pressurized air is applied inside the pipe to make the pipe close fitting with the inside bore of existing pipeline. The result is new structurally self-supporting pipeline inside the old deteriorated one with the quality and durability of a newly installed pipe.
