AlgaeGuard - Continuous Chlorophyll Measurement Instrument
Distinction of green algae, blue-green algae (cyanobacteria), diatoms and crytophytes in a flow-through chamber - simple, quick and reliable. The AlgaeGuard is designed as a `plug and play` instrument, i.e. measurements are carried out automatically using pre-defined parameter settings immediately after boot-up or by pressing the start button on the touchscreen panel. Continuous configuration by the operater is not necessary. Maintenance is as low as 1 hour per month. Parameters can be changed using the external bbe PC software if necessary.

- spectral algae classes to simultaneously determine the content of chlorophyll according to green algae, blue-green algae, brown algae (diatoms and dinoflagellates) and cryptophytes
- transmission parallel to chlorophyll measurement during each analysis, allows the compensation of the influence of substances which cause turbidity
- yellow substances concentration (CDOM) influences the chlorophyll result due to its fluorescence; to improve the chlorophyll measurement, the yellow substance content is determined and used automatically for the chlorophyll correction

The external software can be used with the bbe AlgaeGuard to analyse the data and configure certain parameters. The software is supplied with the instrument. Measurements can be carried out however without an external PC.
