The Berg Cross Alley Screw Conveyor is designed to move bedded or sand laden manure horizontally across facility to a holding area. The drive can be located at either end of conveyor.

The Puller drive extends outside of barn wall pulling the manure out to a reception pit. This unit is equipped with a maintenance platform with safety railing. All guarding is secured so that when removed, it cannot fall from the platform. A chain type coupling is used between the gear box and auger screw.

The Pusher drive is designed to push the manure out of the barn and is located at the inner most end of conveyor This method is preferred by some, but maintenance is more critical. The cell on each side of the thrust bearing must be kept dry to protect the bearing. Taper bore sprockets and #80 roller chain are used for easier maintenance.
