CARBON DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Our core business is the design and implementation of carbon development projects at scale and for the long-term.

We pioneered the creation of self-sustaining programmes by utilising the sale of carbon credits generated by the projects to provide funding. This has enabled us to transform the lives of millions of the world’s poorest people and benefit nature through significantly reducing carbon emissions and deforestation. We have over 10 years of expertise that gives us unique insights and advantage in the creation and delivery of programmes that work and our starting point is always to understand, in depth, the communities with whom we partner.

What makes DelAgua different is our integrated approach to project design and implementation and our specialist understanding of tracking and measurement to provide accuracy, integrity and to optimise carbon credit yield. Originally developed for our Tubeho Neza “Live Well” Rwanda stoves project, we use smartphone technology which enables the monitoring of every single stove and household usage. This is combined with extensive educational programmes and regular biannaual household surveys. The technology means we are able to do this at a scale and with a level of detail that is unique in the sector: we track specific data from every stove distributed, currently over 1.6 million. Purchasers of DelAgua’s carbon credits can therefore have an exceptional level of confidence in their integrity, impact and authenticity. We also believe in developing local teams to run our programmes: we value and need their expertise and our model is to train and transfer skills, creating empowered country teams and a large network of trusted community based workers who are focussed on project implementation and delivery.
