AB Valves - Double Chamber - Double Orifice Triple Function AV
Double chamber, double orifice air valves combine both large orifice and small orifice functions within one unit. The large orifice allows air to be expelled from the system during the filling of a pipeline and admits air back into the system whenever sub-atmospheric pressure occurs. Air is vented from the system until water enters the valve and lifts the float against its seat, ensuring a tight seal. In the event of sub-atmospheric pressure in the system, the water level drops causing the float to fall from its seat and allows the admission of air.
During normal working of the water pipe line, the small orifice releases the air which accumulates under pressure. With the water pipe line in operation, the float is normally pressed against its seat. As air accumulates in the chamber, the water level subsides and consequently the float drops as well, releasing the air to escape through the small orifice. A subsequent rise in the water level returns the float to its seat.
- Triple function: air release during the filling of the pipe system, air release under full operation and full working pressure, venting of air for vacuum breaking purposes.
- The material of sealing rubber is made of EPDM or NBR. The bolts are made of either galvanized steel or stainless steel (A2). Internal material parts are made of stainless steel. The design is reliable with a high capacity and small in dimensions.
- The air valve, double chamber, double orifice can optionally be produced without an internal shut off valve, once customer requirements demand an external isolating valve under the air valve.
