Vogelsag - Model XRipper XRG -Double Spindle Grinding Machine
High flow rates, such as those occurring in large sewers and at the inlets of sewage treatment plants, can only be controlled with suitably large but efficient grinders. The double spindle grinding machine XRipper XRG has been specially developed for these applications. High Capacity Units have screens positioned laterally within the enclosure, trapping and holding back contaminants and waste while allowing large amounts of (waste) water to pass unimpeded. This is continuously fed into the Ripper rotors, which shrink them down to a manageable size. To remove the functional unit, simply unscrew a few screws on the body.

Installed directly into the liquid stream, wastewater (or other fluid media) passes through the double-shaft grinder XRipper with virtually no obstruction. Pressure loss is minimal thanks to the generously sized body. Solids and impurities reach the double-shaft grinder XRipper along with the liquid flow and are then directed to the central area, to the Ripper rotors. These capture, absorb and break down the destructive material. In the process, solid material is torn, sharp edges break long fibrous material into pieces, and coarse and brittle components are ground. The size reduction ratio is adjusted by changing the width and circumference of the Ripper blades. With low speeds and high torque, the XRipper requires only low drive power to effectively prevent clogging, blockages and damage to downstream pumps and valves.
