Swiftgrow - Dry Microbial Blend for Pond Management

SWIFTCLEAN CLEAR POND is a dry blend of naturally occurring, scientifically selected microbes, enzymes and nutrients formulated to perform decomposition and digestion of the biomass ( sludge ) that builds up in pond bottoms over time. Because of the diversity of the microorganisms and enzyme systems, SWIFTCLEAN CLEAR POND is excellent for increasing water clarity. This sludge results from the influx of falling leaves, fish and bird wastes, and other organic and inorganic nutrient runoff from the surrounding watershed. SWIFTCLEAN CLEAR POND is a blend of six select facultative and aerobic microbial cultures, which are effective across a wide range of substrates. The microbes in this product produce specific amylase, ligninase, cellulase, lipase, protease, pectinase and keratinase enzymes. SWIFTCLEAN CLEAR POND is harmless to humans, animals, birds and plants. It restores pond aesthetics and ecological balance without the use of mechanical dredging.

SWIFTCLEAN CLEAR POND microbial cultures actively grow at temperatures of 25° to 45° C ( 77° - 113° F) and produce various enzymes needed for bottom sludge digestion:

  1. Amylase, a starch digesting and liquefying enzyme which changes starch substrates into simpler, more soluble sugars.
  2. Protease are protein digesting and liquefying enzymes that accelerate the breakdown of the peptide bonds. The bonds link together the amino acid building blocks of each protein chain. The hydrolytic action of protease causes the solubilization of proteins.
  3. Cellulase is included to catalyze the digestion of cellulose into dextrose. The result is the breakdown of solid waste into simple molecules in a liquid form
  4. Lipase is effective on animal and vegetable fats. Lipases therefore will help degrade left over fish food and organic materials
  5. Keratinase are saprophytic organisms which thrive on dead organic matter such as leaves, fertilizer and other runoff, and organic wastes. They also grow well under most temperatures and pH ( pH 4.5 – 8.5 ) conditions, which prevail in most lakes, ponds and wastewater lagoons.

Our nutrient pack is designed to enhance bacterial metabolism in CLEAR POND. In contrast to nitrogen and phosphorus, micro-nutrients are required in relatively minor quantities, but are equally critical to healthy bacterial growth and organic degradation. CLEAR POND contains a balanced blend of materials, amino acids, vitamins and a selective blend of barley straw powder. When the barley straw powder is introduced into the pond, it soon begins to decay ( decompose, rot ). By products are released creating a unique environment. It is also known that when sunlight penetrates water containing humic substances and dissolved oxygen, very small amounts of hydrogen peroxide are produced. Very low levels of hydrogen peroxide are known to prevent algae cells from reproducing and inhibit the growth of existing algae cells. Since the barley straw inhibits algae cells and which are not killed outright, they no longer grow and cannot reproduce. Thus the algae bloom will be controlled or prevented.

ACTIVITY

  • The standard viable microbial count of CLEAR POND powder is at least 1.0 Billion CFU/gram total spores. Total count typically > 2 billion when non spore vegetative cells included.
  • Consists of six specially formulated cultures which consist of Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus polymxa, Aspergillus oryzae.

APPLICATION

Ponds, lakes, coves, inlets, fish hatcheries, aqua culture farms, fountains and golf course ponds.

STORAGE

CLEAR POND should be stored between 10° and 40° C, ( 40° - 104° F). For best retention of initial quality, storage in a cool place is recommended. Avoid prolonged exposure to higher temperatures. Do not allow to freeze.
