IGI - Model IG1701/1702 -Earth Pressure Cell/Total Pressure Cells
These are used for measurement of total pressure in earth fills and embankments, at the interface of two different materials or measurement of stress in concrete. Also used for measurement of contact pressures on retaining walls, piles and tunnel linings. These cells consist of circular stainless steel plates, welded together around their periphery and spaced apart by a narrow cavity filled with de-aired fluid and connected by a stainless steel tubing to a pressure transducer. Provision of gas discharge tube protects the sensor against surge and lightning.
These are provided with inflation valve for creating a positive contact between the cell and concrete after the settting of concrete. A specilalised tool is provided to oprate the valve. Hooks are provided to locate the sensor as required.
These are embeded in soil so there is no need for infaltion valve.
very low ranges (2 to 5 bar ) have been specificallly devloped for use in roads, embankments and asphalt pavments.
