ENTEX Webitat - Third Generation Biological Fixed Media System
Webitat is ENTEX’s third generation biological fixed media system engineered to harness the patented BioWebtechnology to boost performance of Integrated Fixed-Film Activated Sludge (IFAS) systems or Submerged Fixed Film systems. It is designed to to actively manage the attached environment to foster optimal biomass growth on the BioWeb.
Webitat modules are comprised of three main components:
- The BioWeb upon which the biofilm accumulates
- Integral Diffusers which serve the purpose of oxygenating the bacteria (when being used for nitrification) and scouring the BioWeb to ensure the biofilm stays at its optimum thickness (when being used for both nitrification and denitrification).
- Shrouding of the sides of the unit which concentrates the aeration and creates a unique Air Lift Pump effect and deters nuisance organisms.
Webitat is perfect for Lagoons:
Webitat for Lagoons harness the power of the Webitat module to retrofit lagoons. Webitat modules jumpstart wastewater treatment in lagoons by addressing the three primary limitations: mixing, aeration, and biomass concentration.
Other Webitat Applications:
In addition to Lagoons, Webitat is also suitable for use in Oxidation Ditches, SBRs, and conventional aeration basins. It optimizes kinetic rates within modules by controlling biomass thickness and controls nuisance organisms such as redworms.
