Zychem Technologies Pty Ltd is a Queensland based company that has been researching and servicing Australian, New Zealand and Asian export markets for Chlorine Dioxide for more than 18 years. It has established markets in commercial poultry drinking water, poultry processing, vegetable production, harvest wash and processing, seafood harvest and processing, meat processing, animal husbandry, public swimming pools, potable water treatment, cooling towers, waste water recycling and expanding niche applications, such as the removal of odours from landfill and buildings subject to smoke and mould damage.

Zychem has been importing chlorine dioxide in a concentrated stabilised form for the past 16 years and developing products based on various diluted solution concentrations. The Zydox branded chlorine dioxide stabilised product is manufactured on the Gold Coast, in Auckland, the UK and USA. The company is the largest supplier of self-activating, highly convenient chlorine dioxide tablets and odour sachets in Australasia.

Zychem’s Managing Director, Lionel Freedman has over 18 years’ experience in delivery of chlorine dioxide based solutions into the Australian and SE Asian markets. He has developed several patented applications for chlorine dioxide in both liquid and gaseous forms and consults to many industry groups in Australia and New Zealand on specialist applications for chlorine dioxide.

The Australasian Company also has access to a suite of professional expertise from its minority shareholder, Zychem Technologies Ltd, Ireland.

A nine month trial was undertaken with the Queensland institute of Medical Research under a State Government Grant into the use of Zydox against Hospital Acquired Infections. The outcome has been very promising with the product meeting the requirements for Hospital Grade Disinfectant as well as proving successful against Golden Staph and other so called “Super Bugs” as a wound treatment.
