Upstream and Downstream of the Waste Heat Boiler (WHB): Royal Dahlman offers proven catalyst filtration technology for the lowest achievable stack emission!. Upstream of the WHB: Fourth Stage Separators (TSS Underflow Filters): The Royal Dahlman Fourth Stage Separator (FSS) increases the separation of the total TSS package efficiency to the required values in combination with the underflow of the TSS. Our FSS features a ‘downflow’ arrangement and special gas distribution inlet section, developed based on extensive CFD analyses and tailored for the filtration of FCC flue gas. Our FSS utilizes high quality, sintered porous metal filter elements, which have proved to perform excellent under the severe FCC flue gas conditions.
Low operational risk & OPEX:
- proprietary `downflow` filter design to minimize wear and tear,
- proprietary gas inlet distribution section to reduce internal velocities and to increase filter element liftime,
- sintered metal fibre technology for low pressure drops & excellent in-situ cleaning.

- design for upset conditions (maximum solids load)
Downstream of the WHB: Full Flow FCC Flue Gas Filter Packages (Full Barrier Filters):
When there is no need to protect equipment upstream of the Waste Heat Boiler such as a Power Recovery Unit, the Refiner can decide to install an ESP, a Wet Gas Scrubber or A Full Barrier Filter. Royal Dahlman has developed the latter based on an extensive experience in refining processes and know-how of proven FCC flue gas filtration technology. On top of this, Royal Dahlman offers the capability to design and fabricate the Filter Packages in our own facilities.
The benefits of a Full Flow FCC Flue Gas Filter Package compared to an ESP or Wet Gas Scrubber are impressive:
- significantly lower OPEX,
- emissions << 10 mg/Nm3, guaranteed,
- no sensitivity to (sudden) solids load changes,
- small plot space,
- no risk on explosions (ESP),
- dry solids disposal, no need for further processing,
