HelgesonModel HS-FRM -Free Release Monitor for Waste Containers

SHARE

The HS-FRM is engineered as a robust free release monitor, designed for assessing radiation levels in various waste receptacles, including drums, containers, and big bags. Its construction involves a chamber shielded from external natural radiation, integrating detectors across the four side panels, ceiling, and floor to ensure comprehensive radiation detection and quantification. Equipped with high-purity germanium (HPGe) and sodium iodide (NaI) detectors, the system features lead shielding of up to 10 cm, allowing effective measurement while minimizing background interference. The software is capable of distinguishing gamma isotopic compositions and managing different volumes or areas within the measured container. It performs continuous real-time analysis to account for background variations, aligned with UNE-EN ISO 11929-1:2021 standards. The system supports a maximum weight measurement of 1500 kg with an internal scale precision of 0.5 kg and allows remote control and monitoring aided by automated doors and conveyor mechanisms.

Different types of waste

The HS-FRM is a free release monitor to be used with different types of waste like drums, containers and big bags.

It is a chamber shielded from the influence of external natural radiation and consisting of detectors in each of the 4 side panels, ceiling and floor.

This allows to perform a fast and efficient detection and quantification of radiation from the waste present inside the chamber.
