EmiControls - Model MFT35-H -FT Stands for Firefighting Turbine
FT stands for Firefighting Turbine which is the versatile EmiControls mist cannon. The turbine is fitted with a nozzle ring which atomizes water and extinguishing foam to form fine particulate matter. This water or water/foam particulate matter is distributed by a propeller. The spray action is variable, ranging from a mist which spreads over a wide area to a water jet with a remarkable projection range. The particulate matter is more efficient at fighting fire and has a much higher cooling capacity than conventional systems
The turbine can be fitted on various vehicles or machines. Depending on the type of vehicle, the turbine is suitable for all sorts of different applications and purposes. It is primarily used as a fixed tower-mounted or arm-mounted installation in the chemical industry or in refineries.
The turbine can be supplied with a hydraulic drive or as an electric model.

The advantages of the EmiControls firefighting solutions are brought about by the sophisticated nozzle technology. Even at low pressure the nozzles generate a fine mist, which provides the following advantages during firefighting:
- A relatively large heat-transfer area is generated by water atomization. This produces a much higher cooling capacity on the burning object than with conventional systems.
- The water or water/foam particulate matter can be deposited directly on the flames and can therefore smother the burning object, thereby making firefighting much more efficient.
- The water or water/foam particulate matter floats through the atmosphere. It is therefore possible to access areas that a conventional extinguisher jet cannot reach.
- The mist also smothers the smoke and soot particles, thereby reducing the emission of fumes during firefighting.
- Less water is used than with conventional extinguishing systems, therefore less damage is caused in general by the water involved in fighting fires.
- The fire extinguishing equipment and installations supplied by EmiControls can be operated by remote control, therefore there is no need for people to enter the immediate danger zone.
- EmiControls also offers pre-installed extinguishing systems, which can save valuable minutes when it comes to bringing a fire under control. Developments in the first few minutes of a fire are of crucial importance for rescuing people and containing property damage.
- The turbine`s integrated rotation function and adjustable angle of incline allow adaptation to changing wind conditions.
