AVLModel iCAL GDU SL -Gas Divider for Gas Analyzer Calibration

SHARE
The AVL iCAL GDU SL is a gas divider engineered to enhance calibration accuracy of gas analyzers. This device provides precise linearizations, crucial for maintaining accuracy in gas analysis. Equipped with a certified ISO 17025 calibration, it assures compliance with stringent regulatory demands. The device boasts up to 1023 division steps utilizing sonic nozzles, which allow dilution from concentrations like 10,000 ppm to just 9.77 ppm. This efficiency minimizes the need for multiple gas cylinders. Constructed with high-precision pressure sensors and stainless steel components, it offers accuracy within 0.5% of the cut point, ensuring long-term reliability. Its advanced flow design, achieved through virtual simulations and 3D printed stainless steel structures, accelerates purge and stabilization periods, thereby conserving calibration gases and reducing operational costs. It is particularly advantageous for gases such as NH3 that are prone to surface adhesion issues, ensuring faster stabilization and accurate readings.

The accuracy of gas analyzers is highly dependent on the quality and precision of the calibration devices used. In order to guarantee high quality results, minimize operating errors and reduce operating times, we have created the AVL iCAL emission calibration devices. AVL’s ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory and numerous installations at regulatory bodies demonstrate the highest levels of accuracy required to determine compliance with the complex regulatory requirements.

The AVL iCAL GDU SL (Gas Divider) is used to verify the linearity of gas analyzers. The optionally integrated converter tester determines the efficiency of NOX converters used in chemiluminescence detector (CLD) analyzers.

Up to 1023 Cut Points

By using the combinations of up to 10 sonic nozzles, 1023 cut points (division steps) can be realized. This allows to dilute a gas of e.g. 10,000 ppm down to 9.77 ppm and reduces the number of gas bottles needed.

Best Accuracy, Stability and Reproducibility

By using sonic nozzles in stainless steel and high precision pressure sensors with automatic drift compensation, a dilution accuracy of better than 0.5% of the cut point can be reached with unprecedented long-term stability and reproducibility.

Fast Purge / Stabilization Times

Optimized flow design, realized by using virtual flow simulation and 3D printing of complex stainless steel structures, provides much faster purge and stabilization times compared to conventional mixing devices. This also saves calibration gases and reduces operational cost.

Best Results also with Problematic Gases

Optimized especially for low concentrations of gases that tend to stick to surfaces, like e.g. NH3. It provides faster signal stabilization and higher accuracy also with such gases, thanks to the new flow design combined with use of best suited materials and surfaces.

Certified Accuracy - Robust Operation

NIST traceable and ISO 17025 certified calibrations, each nozzle calibrated with a flow accuracy of better than 0.2%. Since sonic flow nozzles as secondary flow standards, they remain their accuracy during their life time.

The AVL iCAL GDU SL is available with 15, 63, 255 or 1023 cut points. The device is available with or without integrated converter tester and as an integrated device for installation in a measuring cabinet or as an external device.

The underlying physical principle of the device is based on the combination of calibrated critical (sonic) nozzles allowing accurately diluted calibration gases. Calibration gas and dilution gas pressures are controlled with high-precision pressure regulators incorporating excellent long-term stability. A serial interface (RS232) as well as a LAN interface (TCP/IP), based on the AK standard is included for remote control. Additionally, the device can be operated through a web-interface via a tablet or notebook.
