Genesol - Model 37 -Strongly Acidic Membrane Cleaner
Genesol 37 has been developed as a general-purpose cleaner for inorganic scale and iron deposits found in most types of membrane system. It is also highly effective at removing organic deposits from severely fouled systems.
- Compatible with Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Nanofiltration (NF) membranes
- Effective against inorganic scale and iron deposits
- Effective against proteinous deposits
- Wide application of use including the food process industry
- Liquid product, easy to use
- Low dose rate ensures cost effective treatment
Genesol 37 is effective when used as a 1-2% solution and alternately soaked and recycled through the membrane system for 1-2 hours. Cleaning solution pH should be the minimum recommended by the membrane manufacturer. If the pH starts to rise during the cleaning process additional Genesol 37 should be added or the cleaning solution replaced.
After cleaning, Genesol 37 cleaning solutions should be slowly neutralised to pH 6-7 using an alkaline solution before discharge as the presence of acid solutions can be damaging to concrete and cement lined discharge pipes. Before returning the plant to service, the membrane system should be thoroughly flushed, until the pH of the feed and the concentrate are similar. The product water conductivity may initially be high but will return to normal after a few hours of operation.
Genesol 37 is fully miscible with water in all proportions.
Genesol 37 is a mixture of nitric and phosphoric acids and care should be taken during handling. Solutions of Genesol 37 are corrosive to carbon steel and many other metals and materials of construction, so all chemical tanks, pumps and pipe-work must be made from acid-resistant materials.
