SHARE

The Geocell Honeycomb Confinement System is a three-dimensional honeycomb structure made of a polymer material such as HDPE, which is unfolded at the construction site and then filled with materials such as soil, gravel or sand to form a monolithic reinforcing system used to enhance foundation capacity, prevent lateral slip and control erosion.

PENNCELL is a kind of prefabricated, expanded, three-dimensional reinforcement cellular confinement system to improve the base condition. Widely used for projects of road foundation, slope protection, river bank protection, and retaining walls. Mainly used along with geotextiles. Lightweight and foldable, easy to transport.

  1. It is light, wear-resistant, chemically stable, resistant to light and oxygen aging, acid and alkali, and suitable for different soils and deserts.
  2. It has high lateral restrictions and anti-slip, anti-deformation, and effectively enhances the bearing capacity of the roadbed and disperses the load.
  3. Changing the geometric dimensions such as the height and welding distance of the geocell can meet different engineering needs.
  4. It is flexible and has a small transportation volume; it is easy to connect and has a fast construction speed.

How the Geocell Honeycomb Confinement System Works

  1. The material is folded at the factory for easy transportation.
  2. Unfolded on site to form honeycomb cells.
  3. The cell is filled with soil, gravel or mixture.
  4. Through the “constraint effect” of the honeycomb structure, the material displacement is limited and the overall stability is improved.
