geoCLEAMobile Dewatering System

SHARE

Ground apertures of several hundred metres are made in geothermal applications or when drilling wells or geothermal probes. The accumulated groundwater and service water raises to the surface under high pressure (approx. 5 to 7 m3/h per borehole) and must be partially depressurised and disposed of. Traditional disposal methods use several sedimentation vessels installed in sequence, with some systems using up to six vessels in a row. The space required on site measures approximately 100 m². Other requirements: Gradients or access for pumps and tankers. The water run-off is disposed of into the sewage system or local environment, where applicable. The remaining sediment in the vessels is disposed of by third-party companies. Usually, the sediment still contains a high volume of water. This then becomes apparent in the disposal quantities and costs. The dry solid volume is only around 5% when using this traditional sedimentation method.

Use of the geoCLEAN mobile dewatering system at the drilling site:
The geoCLEAN system separates sediment and water cleanly, with quality control taking place using installed measurement sensors. The principal of best practice has proven itself many times over. With the geoCLEAN system, the dry solid quantity of the sediment to be removed is increased to approximately 25%, meaning the disposal quantity is reduced accordingly to around 20%. The disposal costs are then also reduced to 20%. A key advantage of the system is its compact design. With a required floor space of around 20 m² (including the small sediment container), it can be easily positioned in a small space next to the drilling point. Transportation of the sediment is reduced to only a few trips. For example, only one tanker movement is now required where five were required before. The overall duration of the building site and floor loads on the property are reduced. The system is designed for max. 20 m3/h, for up to three drilling points of approx. 7 m³ each in parallel operation.

The perfomance data of the geoCLEAN system::
  Maximum drilling water capacity :        20 m3/h
  Maximum solid discharge:                    10 t/h

A wide spectrum of drilling applications can then be covered. The hose from the drill is connected directly to the container, with the water and sludge being discharged from the container through the standard connection. The process plant on the geoCLEAN system:
   15-foot standard container
   Length             4,5 m
   Width               2,2 m
   Height              2,3 m
   Weight             max. 4 t
   Optional           fold-out or telescopic feet
Special designs on request.

- Space for skips and pumps is saved
- The cleaned water can be discharged directly into the sewage system or local environment
- Disposal costs are reduced as only the separated solids have to be disposed of – without the large volumes of water
- The emitted pressurised air is cleaned using an integrated wet scrubber so that significantly less pollutants escape into the air
- The drill cutting mixture is treated so that
   - clean air,
   - drier solids and
   - clean water
are produced
