Geosynthetic clay cover (GCL) material is produced by batch pinning method of placing bentonite material between braided and non-braided geotextiles. In general, the upper layer is non-woven geotextile and the lower layer is braided geotextile. However, in some cases, non-woven geotextiles can be used on both the top and the bottom. The material produced by this method is also called geocomposite. Geosynthetic clay is used to provide clay material impermeability.
