Glass Lined Pumps
Discflo offers glass-lining on all standard Disc Pump models. This process produces a non-stick surface on the wet end parts to prevent grease and Struvite build-up. The super-durable glass-lined surface also reduces wear inside the pump, increases pump life and greatly improves resistance to corrosion, abrasion, high temperatures and thermal shock. Glass-lined pumps have been shown to perform better than epoxy-lined pumps in abrasive and corrosive service.
The Vitco Process
Discflo’s glass-lined pumps use the dual-coat glass-lining process developed by Vitco. The glass lining is a mix of fine borosilicate glass, water and clay, applied to the base metal substrate at high temperature. Vitco’s dual-coat process gives extra durability and longevity. The base coat forms a strong bond with the base metal, while the cover coat provides the lining’s non-stick characteristics.
Availability
Glass-lining is available on all standard horizontal in-line, close-coupled and vertical pump models. It can be added to any and all wet-end parts. Contact your Discflo representative for more information about this proven technique for super abrasion and corrosion resistance.
