Grafex - Graphite Sheets
Expanded graphite is used in high temperatures and has a very good level of chemical resistance. It is a soft material that has a better compression rate than gaskets made out of fiber mixtures, thus assuring a higher level of tightness.

Some of the extraordinary properties of the expanded graphite in sealing processes:
- The lack of any volatile constituents, thus guaranteeing the same initial volume and physical-mechanical properties of the sealing elements
- Resistance to cryogenic temperatures of up to 5500C in the air and 30000C in inert atmosphere
- Fire protection
- A high degree of conductibility, with very good effects on heat dissipation in dynamic sealings
- Exceptional resistance to most aggressive corrosive environments (pH 0-14)
- Elastic recovery up to 10% of initial thickness
- Inert from the chemical point of view
- No risk associated with food
- Completely harmless to people’s health
Graphite sheets are manufactured in various ways, with or without insertion:
Types of insertions:
- SR = without insertion
- RI = insertion with plane stainless steel 316L(50μ)
- RN = double insertion of nickel (13μ)
- PI = insertion with perforated stainless steel 316L(100μ)
- GI = insertion with stainless steel net 316L
Standard available thickness: 0.2 mm; 0.5 mm; 0.8 mm, 1 mm; 1.5 mm; 2 mm; 3 mm; 5 mm. Upon request, we can manufacture products with non-standard thickness.
Maximum width: 1000 mm
