Expanded graphite is used in high temperatures and has a very good level of chemical resistance. It is a soft material that has a better compression rate than gaskets made out of fiber mixtures, thus assuring a higher level of tightness.

When choosing the right material, one must take into consideration the working temperature (peak and under continuous operation temperature), pressure, working environment and other critical conditions specific to the application.
