GreaseBeta - Grease Traps & Fat Traps
From greasebeta - Grease Management Solutions
GreaseBeta Traps are the core element of any grease management solution. Simple, discrete and proven they are the most cost effective means of separating grease from an effluent stream. In so doing they prevent fat and food debris from collecting in the drainage network, hence significantly reducing the risk of blockages, infestations and odours.

The key lo the success of the GB Trap is to have it correctly sized (or the flow rate and FOG levels it will receive. In short an undersized GG Trap will not allow enough residence time to allow the oil and grease to separate from the effluent stream and the waste will flow straight through the unit As a basic rule a GB Trap should be as large as can reasonably be installed, allowing maximum residence time and therefore more effective separation. CBIO can help and advise which GB Trap is best for your site.
There are a range of G8 Traps (see below) capable of dealing with waste flows from domestic applications or simple coffee making machines to catch the waste coffee grounds (5lt capacity), to multiple potwash sinks in busy kitchens (200lt).
The units are easily installed requiring basic plumbing connections into the upstream and downstream drains. In order to help the maintenance regime a 15mm drain valve can be plumbed into the premises drain network.
Basic regular maintenance is required on these units as the separated fat has to be collected and correctly disposed of. The frequency of this will depend entirely on how fast the food debris and fat accumulates in the GB Trap. If to be undertaken in-house the unit has to opened, the fat can be ladled out Into a suitable receptacle and disposed of and then the solids strainer must be removed, emptied and cleaned.
This maintenance regime can be mitigated to some extent by the installation of a GB Bio unit upstream of the GB Trap. The bacteria will then colonise the trap and breakdown the fat and grease In the collection area.
CBIO. via their GB Clean offering also provides a complete grease trap maintenance and emptying service. All the waste is collected in a sealed drum and disposed of at a registered waste disposal site, the whole process, from the grease trap to the waste site is recorded and traceable.
