Grid Liquid Drainage Tray

Several types of collection trays were developed according to the requirements of application and material:

• Chinese hat
• Vane-type collector
• Chimney collection tray

Usually, the liquid is led from the collection tray into a circumferential collection trough or in a draw-off pocket. The collection tray can also be used as an internal pump tank. In this case, the liquid remains at the bottom of the column during shut down of the column. The tank volume depends on the height of the gas chimneys. In order to avoid problems in sealing the collection tray is frequently welded or laminated into the column.
