H&L Instruments - Model 570X -Fiber optic Transceiver for Fiber optic SCADA Network Solution

The Model 570X is H&L Instruments newest innovation in fiberoptic SCADA communication. The 570X includes an embedded Linux System-On-Module (SOM) to provide a powerful all in one solution for SCADA network management and control. It’s never been easier to monitor your FiberLoop III system using FiberPanel from your head-end PC, and the new Model 570X incorporates expanded capabilities for monitoring your network via a TCP/IP connection.

While the Model 570X fully supports direct serial connection, it eliminates the requirement for serial cables and terminal servers by incorporating direct support of DNP3 over TCP or UDP. The 570X significantly improves performance and reduces latency by removing the serial bottleneck at the master endpoint. Intelligent serial DNP3 endpoints are supported by a built-in protocol translator.

The Model 570X transceiver includes the following features:

  • Embedded Linux System-On-Module (SOM)
  • Support for DNP3 over TCP or UDP
  • Built-in protocol translator supports serial DNP3 endpoints
  • Standard or secure FiberPanel connections over IP
  • 570 networks can be configured from remote locations without need for additional hardware

The Model 570-16 option provides 16 high speed serial data communications channels for master/slave supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA). In controller mode, this device automatically reroutes data in the event of a fiber break or transceiver failure. In transceiver mode, the device provides the interface with all remote devices including RTUs, PLCs, and IEDs.

IntelliTeam II Option
The IntelliTEAM II option equips the Model 570 to operate with the S&C 5804 Controller. This version of the Model 570 Transceiver uses a short case with a form factor that is dimensionally compatible with the S&C controller. The S&C 5804 IntelliTEAM II Controllers operate from a 12 volt power source. The Model 570i incorporates a high-efficiency 9-36V power supply for easy integration and compatibility with the S&C products.

INCOM Option
The Model 570i provides the factory installed INCOM Communications Adapter Option. This option adds support for translating Eaton`s daisy-chained signals from INCOM protocol devices to the H&L Fiberloop III system. The Model 570i enables the Fiberloop III system to collect, view, and interpret real-time data from a variety of IMPACC devices.

All Model 570 transceivers are bundled with the FiberPanel III configuration and diagnostic software for managing the fiberoptic network.
