These cells are suitable for use with Specac’s range of heated cell holders: the Variable Temperature cell holder, the Electrical Heating Jacket, and the Water Heating jacket. They are demountable and come in static or flow configurations, suitable for a temperature range from +250 to -190 °C. They can also be used standalone with a slide mount attachment.

  • Designed to be heated or cooled These stainless-steel cells are suitable for heating to 250 °C or cooling to -70 °C (liquid cells) or -190 °C (solids cells). They feature a small port for attachment of a measuring thermocouple (not included).
  •  Flow cell configurations Can be fitted with Swagelok connections for use with sample pumping systems. This is useful where a continuous recycling of samples and cleaning solvents is required.
  • Choice of demountable window sets Demountable windows allow for flexibility of pathlength and may be disassembled to clean difficult samples.
  •  Extensive selection of materials Our range of windows cover spectral ranges from the near-IR through to THz frequencies.

Liquid flow cells

Flow cells have 1/16th inch Swagelok unions fitted either (a) flush to the cell body or (b) to 1/16th inch flow tubes. Either type may be used in the Specac Electrical Heating Jacket or Water Heating Jacket, but only the second type may be used in the Variable Temperature Cell Holder.

Static liquid cells

The static cells are filled via ports on the front face (sealed with hex nuts during recording of spectra). A suitable syringe can be used to introduce sample to the cell. Alternatively, Luer fittings can be screwed in place for use with a Luer syringe.

Pellet holders

These are simple screw-fit cells capable of supporting sample pellets or wafers. There is one design for the Water and Electrical Heating Jackets which can take samples up to 3 mm thickness and 28 mm diameter, and a second design for use with the Variable Temperature Cell Holder and Water Heating Jacket which can take samples up to 8 mm thickness and 30 mm diameter.
