Optimized for sample preparation and quality control
The HS-F1000 milling machine combines innovative technology and full flexibility with a compact and robust design. The main features of the machine are extremely short preparation times, easy automation, top quality and an unbeatable low price. The HS-F1000 was specially designed to meet the requirements of quality control laboratories, guided by HERZOG`s decades of experience in the field of sample preparation machines.
Speed
The sample is placed on the transfer position in the machine by the operator, robot or a conveyor belt system. Since the HS-F1000 mills the underside of the sample, the sample is already in a defined zero point position. A time-consuming measurement of the sample height, for example using a measuring stamp, is therefore no longer necessary.

Flexibility
The design of the HS-F1000 was designed to be flexible so that special customer requirements can be easily met. During manual operation, sample entry is performed by the operator from the front of the machine. The standard input position is behind the left door leaf, but input from the right is also possible without any effort. During automatic operation, the sample can be entered either through one of the two side entry ports or through the backloading port. Robots, conveyor belts or magazines can be used for this.

Compact design
The HS-F1000 is a very compact machine, which allows for easy installation in narrow environments and small spaces. The volume of the HS-F1000 is at least two times smaller than that of commercial CNC machines used for sample preparation. The low overall height of the machine allows it to be transported through standard industrial doors.
The HS-F1000 is the ideal machine for containerized robotic laboratories. The HS-F1000 easily fits into ISO standard containers and is so compact that the operator can move about without difficulty and carry out maintenance work, for example. In larger robot laboratories, the small footprint of the HS-F1000 allows the integration of additional automation components or larger machines.

Easy maintainability
Despite the small machine size, the HS-F1000 is easily accessible and easy to maintain. The interior of the machine was designed in such a way that the chips are guided into the collection container and can be disposed of there either manually by the operator or automatically. The main machine components such as the spindle, motors and V-belts are installed in such a way that they can be easily serviced, replaced or repaired. The control cabinet and most of the pneumatics are located at the rear of the machine and are accessible to operating and maintenance personnel without disrupting ongoing operations.

Stability
In designing the HS-F1000, we used simulation-based design techniques to optimize the machine for use in sample preparation. The machine stand was designed on the basis of an FEM calculation and also has perfect damping properties due to the use of mineral casting. This leads to a significantly reduced level of vibration and excellent milling results, even with very hard pig iron samples.
