AkalModel VX230 -High Performance Rotary Lobe Pump

SHARE

High capacity in minimum space. This is the key feature of the VX230. It offers capacities up to 1,234 m³/hour against pressures up to 12 bar. The model series also includes key features of the VX series, such as the QuickService principle. This makes maintenance work significantly faster and easier and minimizes downtime.

ROTARY LOBE PUMP OPERATING PRINCIPLE How do Vogelsang rotary lobe pumps work?

The rotary lobe pump is a positive displacement pump. The pumping principle is based on two counter-rotating pump elements known as rotary lobes. These are mounted on two synchronized shafts. The rotating movement of the lobes increases the volume of the pump chamber on the suction side. This creates suction that draws media into the rotary lobe pump. As the rotational motion continues, the medium is then sealed into the spaces between the rotating lobes and the pump casing and is again delivered to the discharge side by the pumping chambers as it reduces in size; The rotary lobe pump delivers the medium directly. Thanks to their mirror symmetrical design, rotary lobe pumps are independent of the direction of rotation and can pump in both directions without any restrictions. Developed in the 1990s, HiFlo lobes operate vibration-free, providing low vibration and extremely precise pumping.

MAINTENANCE OF VOGELSANG ROTARY LOBE PUMPS
How to disassemble a VX pump
  1. Open the cover:
Loosen the four nuts, remove the cover and you have free access to the pumping chamber. If necessary, you can also replace the cover`s wear plate at this stage.
  2. Remove the swivel lobes:
Loosen the tension bolts, remove the pressure discs from the lobes, place the puller on the lobes and remove.
  3. Remove the wear plates:
Once you have the lobes removed, all you have to do is unscrew the two screws and you can remove the wear plate from the gearbox.
  4. Remove the quality Cartridge mechanical seal:
Using a simple pull-out device, you can now pull out the Cartridge mechanical seal and then replace it just as easily.
  5. Assembly:
Fix the wear plate on the gearbox side with two screws, install the lobes and secure them to the shaft with the pressure discs, install the pump cover and screw it into place.
