Electromedia III - High Suspended Solids Filtration
High suspended solids are high concentrations of particulate matter that can cause increased sedimentation and siltation in streams or rivers. High suspended solids can come from many sources including natural erosion, runoff, agricultural practices, domestic and industrial wastewater discharge and pollution.
Electromedia III can be used on such applications as primary sewage after gross solids have been removed, car wash rinse waters or irrigation waters among others. Filtronics EM-III is your solution for filtration before high suspended solids reach our natural resources such as streams, rivers or oceans.
Suspended particles such as metals and bacteria provide matter for other pollutants to attach or serve as indicators of other potential pollutants. High suspended solids in excessive concentrations can be harmful to the environment and toxic to important habitats for fish and other aquatic life.
Filtronics will design a simple, proven and cost-effective treatment system based upon influent quality, economics and space management. Filtronics uses only ANSI/NSF Standard 60 and ANSI/NSF Standard 61 compliant media.
FILTRONICS ELECTROMEDIA III filters raw waters having high suspended solids of 200 ppm and containing detergents.
Electromedia III
Electromedia III is a unique filtration system integrating a special vessel design and a proprietary media formulated for the filtration of raw waters having high suspended solids (in the order of 200 ppm) and containing detergents. It is used in conjunction with an alum and ferric chloride pretreatment to produce filtrates having a turbidity of approximately 10 NTU.
Electromedia III can be used on such applications as primary sewage after gross solids have been removed, car wash rinse waters or irrigation waters among others. Filtronics EM-III is your solution for filtration before high suspended solids reach our natural resources such as streams, rivers or oceans.

Our standard controls package uses a PLC and graphic display panel for automatic, unattended operation. Automatic filter controls include reset timers for filtration, backwash and purge. Backwash is initiated by time or differential pressure override. Controls are housed in a NEMA 4 or NEMA 12 enclosure.
- Flow range from 10 to 750 gpm simplex systems.
- 60 psi pressure tank ASME code, stamped. (Higher ratings available.)
- Filter tanks are carbon steel, with epoxy lining of all wetted surfaces.
- Backwash flow controls, air release valves, automatic filter control valves.
- Standard interior fittings: PVC, and/or stainless steel.
- Each tank fitted with 12” X16” access hatches, 6” x 8” hand holes, or manways
