Industrial Flat Panel monitors were extended for multi-touch versions with projected capacitive touch technology (PCT) for gesture and multi-touch operations. The PCT technology enables efficient and fast operation, even when wearing thin protective gloves. The devices responds to gestures and operator actions with up to five fingers simultaneously. For example, image contents can be panned, zoomed, or hidden components shown both intuitively and quickly.

The new Industrial Flat Panel SIMATIC IFP is suitable for use as an industrial monitor with fast response times, for example, for jogging and plotting. Panels with widescreen displays are available in 15, 19 and 22 inch sizes as pure display devices or with touch screen operation. There is also a 15-inch touch version with function keys, a front USB port and a keypad.

They are connected via DVI-D or the new DisplayPort interface to an Industrial PC, which can be at a distance of up to 30 meters.

The new widescreen products have won the "iF product design award 2012".
