Smell Tresholds
Odor control is a complex matter because of the different smell tresholds of the components. Often, the odor nuisance is caused by a mixture of components, where those with the lowest concentrations can cause the strongest source of smell.
H2S is a good example. It has a smell of rotten egs, and already causes noticeable odor nuisance in a concentration of 0.0005 PPM.
Test Equipment
This is the reason why many manufacturers have their doubts about current odor control solutions. That`s why Trevi nv employs miniature scrubbers made of glass for on-site testing. The most polluted air is sampled with special gas syringes, and sent through the miniature scrubber. A client can thus immediately observe the absence of smell at the scrubber outlet.
