GF Harvel - Model CPVC 40 -Industrial Pipe
CPVC is similar to PVC, but is treated with chlorine to create a material that is more heat and highly resistant to acids, alkalis, alcohols, and many other corrosive materials. Our Corzan® CPVC compound also has impressive fire resistant qualities-meaning it is very difficult to ignite. This may be useful in applications that require ignited heat sources or in situations that are prone to fire. The wide range of joining options that include solvent welding, threaded and mechanical connections make it ideal for easy, error free installations.
The CPVC product line includes schedules 40 and 80 piping from 1/4" through 24" diameters. GF Harvel CPVC piping systems can handle more than three-fourths of the temperature/pressure requirements of today’s typical process plants. CPVC pressure pipe has an upper working temperature limit of 200°F (93°C), or approximately 60°F (15°C) above that of Type I Grade I PVC. As with all thermoplastic piping systems, CPVC’s ability to withstand pressure varies with pipe diameter, wall thickness, and temperature. For pressure piping applications it is recommended for temperatures as high as 200°F (93°C) when appropriate temperature de-rating factors are applied. As the pipe diameter and temperature increases, the pressure rating of the product decreases. For example, 1/2" Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is engineered for continuous service of 850 psi @ 73°F (23°C). The same pipe in service @ 180°F (82°C) carries a maximum working pressure rating of 210 psi at this temperature. 6" Schedule 80 CPVC pipe is designed for 270 psi @ 73°F, and 54 psi @ 200°F.
All CPVC Schedule 40 and schedule 80 pipe shall be manufactured from a Type IV, Grade I Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) compound with a Cell Classification of 23447 per ASTM D1784. The pipe shall be manufactured in strict compliance to ASTM F441, consistently meeting the Quality Assurance test requirements of this standard with regard to material, workmanship, burst pressure, flattening, and extrusion quality. The pipe shall be produced in the USA using domestic materials, by an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer, and shall be stored indoors after production, at the manufacturing site, until shipped from factory. This pipe shall carry the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) seal of approval for potable water applications. All pipe shall be manufactured by GF Harvel.
