Sediment: It is the clay, mud and all other pollutants that are inorganic and spoil the color of water. DOF Series sediment filters are used in the treatment of process water of industries that need high capacity water and in obtaining drinkable water for towns and villages.

DOF Series sediment filters can filter sediment and suspended solids in water up to 10µ and the turbidity up to 1 NTU level.

DOF Series systems are standard epoxy painted steel tanks which are time controlled. They have also differential pressure controlled and capacity controlled alternatives available. In backwash process instead of block valves pneumatic or hydraulic operating cast frame diaphragm valves are used. Filtration materials are graded Quartz, Antracite and Filter Ag minerals.

  • Tank frame can be stainless steel or epoxy supported linear fibres
  • Valves can be stainless steel or PVC selected.

They are able to operate for a long time with no problem because of the reduced moving items that may breakdown and the simplicity of their control systems. The use of the system is practical and the maintenance can be easily done by your own team.

In selecting the sediment filter, our project engineers determine the optimum surface velocity according to the rate of flow, sediment and color of your water. They calculate the water consumption by determining backwash and rinse periods and the amount of materials to be hold on the surface and finally choose the most efficient system for you.

 Dissolved iron and manganese in water causes color, turbidity and bacteria reproduction. Especially, in textile, plastics, paper, leather and food industry iron & manganese result in unwanted outcomes.

By means of a special filtration mineral used in filters, up to 5 ppm iron and 2 ppm manganese treatment is obtained. The dissolved iron flowing with a very low velocity among the special mineral is oxidized between the layers and filtered. Iron and manganese put out by backwash is removed by this way. No regenerant is necessary during backwash. But, for iron concentration of more than 5 ppm and manganese more than 2 ppm the problem may be solved by using different filtration mineral and regenerant substance in backwash.
