Industrial Water Softening Systems
Softening: It is the removal of hardness in water caused by calcium and magnesium ions using cationic resin. Hard water causes calcification on the surfaces of steam cauldrons, heaters and hot water installations. This way their cross-section get narrower, important transfer losses and energy consumption occur.
Ideal DOS/DOTS Series Automatic Softening Systems
- Up to 200 m³/h single-tank system; D.O.S. Series
- Up to 200 m³/h for 24 hours continuous soft water double-tank system; D.O.T.S. Series
Diaphragm valve systems are used in process water treatment of industries which need high capacity soft water and in obtaining soft drinkable water for towns and villages.
DOS and DOTS series systems are capacity controlled as standard. Time adjustable and control panel with hardness sensor alternatives are available. In backwash process instead of block valves pneumatic or hydraulic operating cast frame diaphragm valves are used. They are equipped with salt absorbing system with PVC injector, polyethylene brine tank and a steager control unit to control them. They are non-bypass; means they do not allow hard water to pass to the installation during regeneration. But there is the alternative in DOS that gives water over the by-pass line.
In DOS and DOTS series systems frame material is galvanise plated steel.
If wanted;
- Tank frame can be stainless steel or epoxy supported linear fibre
- Valve can be stainless steel or PVC selected.
To meet the need of more than 200 m³/h rate of flow, parellel or consecutive group alternatives can be used.
In DOS/DOTS softening systems moving items that may breakdown are reduced. Their control systems are simple so they operate for a long time with no problem. This simplicity allows you to do the maintenance easily with your own team without the need of engineering information.
