Fostoria - Infrared Shuttle Ovens
Infrared shuttle ovens relax and condition vinyl and other materials in a fraction of the time required by hot-air systems. Often purchased to improve productivity, they simplify handling by "shuttling" a warm sheet out with each cold sheet put in. The ovens feature continuous feed sensors to assure uniform temperatures, and a uniform result. Advanced oven models incorporate an exclusive pneumatic "trap" to clamp the vinyl on four sides, thus preventing dimensional changes prior to forming. Common applications for shuttle ovens include: door panels, dashboards, steering wheel coverings and arm rests. Manufacturers of air bag compartments use these ovens for pre-heating vinyl prior to vacuum forming. These ovens are individually engineered and built to the specific requirements of the application. Listed below are examples of this equipment.tomers with proven oven/conveyor solutions; and durable, long-lasting equipment.
Shown here is an example of a Tray Oven System. This oven is designed to cure an adhesive coating on plastic interiors. It can be used for a variety of other applications. What makes this equipment so unique, is that it combines infrared with convection heat, allowing the user to choose infrared heat only, convection only, or a combination of both heat sources, for best results.
Below is an example of a Double Tray System. With two trays you can be loading and unloading a part while the other part is being heated inside of the oven. This design allows for a higher production rate. The trays are designed to be at the same location inside of the oven which will allow for consistent heat from part to part. We have designed a variety of trays that can be used for different products and the oven can be equipped with top and bottom heat. Free testing at our advanced lab will determine proper heating and tray design.
Control panels located on top of the oven allow the possibility of adding an auto loader system to the equipment. It also decreases floor space and allows for staging of parts along the side of the oven.
Oven design allows the capability of using an existing conveyor or tray system. This equipment can be adapted to an existing line or can be modified to fit a new product launch. Controls of this equipment are typically mounted to the side of the oven but can also be freestanding if required. This oven is available in a variety of heater configurations, to provide the best heating technology for your product.
