Plexus - Model HM6 -Intelligent Wireless SCADA Cellular Modbus System
Plexus Controls Intelligent Wireless System (IWS) nodes comprise of a range of distributed wireless products from Plexus Controls providing advanced supervisory, control and data acquisition (SCADA) functionality for commercial and industrial applications. Plexus Cellular Modbus System (CMS) is an integrated cellular wireless gateway unit that provides remote connectivity and reporting for Modbus RTU devices. Initially designed for Power Meter and Power Factor Controller monitoring the CMS can attach to any Modbus RTU device and poll it’s registers for data. All system configurable parameters are held in a file that can be edited by the user by attaching a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the CMS.
On power up the system auto connects to the AWS service and starts uploading data immediately. The AWS display provides a test dashboard as well as full histograms (displaying up to 3 plots on the same graph. Email/sms notification and GUI map display via a webpage will be added in 2019. The gateway system stores all readings with date/time stamp, so even if the data upload is delayed due to a cellular outage the data integrity is not lost.
CMS is powered through an internal 12-24V DC switched regulator. There are 2 basic connections on the system: 1. A wire pair for 12-24V DC 1.5A power and 2. A 3 wire connection (D+, D- and ground) for the RS485 link. An optional 24V 1.5A mains power adapter is available for the system.
