Ion Chromatography Analysis
Ion chromatography (or ion-exchange chromatography) is a process that allows for the separation of ions and polar molecules based on their charge by way of an ion-exchange resin. It is a form of liquid chromatography whose greatest use is in the analysis of anions.
Micro-Analysis provides the determination of Br, Cl, F, I and S content by this application. Samples are put into solution via Oxygen Flask Combustion, converting the subject element to its ionic form (chlorine to chloride, sulfur to sulfate, etc.). The solution is then diluted, filtered and injected into the instrument.
This method is applicable to a wide range of materials and levels of content down to 0.10% (0.25% for iodine), accuracy +/- 0.30%.
