Selen-IX™Ion Exchange Technology for Selenium Removal from Wastewater

SHARE

We offer an ion exchange based technology combined with electrochemical reduction of selenate to selenium to remove selenium from wastewater. The technology reduces selenium concentrations down to as low as 1 ppb using resins placed in columns. Operating in carousel mode, the columns treat feed solution and regenerate resin to provide continuous treatment. A small volume of spent regenerant solution is directed to a selenium electrochemical reduction step where iron is added to form an iron-selenium solid. The selenium free solution is recycled back to the ion exchange circuit, eliminating waste liquid brine.

Selen-IX™ does not require the feed water to be heated, is highly adaptable to fluctuations in selenium concentrations, greatly reduces the volume of waste by-product and stabilizes selenium into an inorganic iron-selenium solid product. Selen-IX™ units are compact modules with a small footprint and can be easily deployed in remote locations to treat multiple discharge points
