GPSponge is a kit for the collection, inactivation, transport and storage of environmental samples for subsequent nucleic acid purification. The stabilizing solution effectively inactivates viruses and non-sporulated bacteria. As a result, the collected samples are rendered non-infectious, ensuring safe handling and shipping.
