The company Plattenhardt and Wirth GmbH was founded on July 1, 1965 by Kurt Plattenhardt and Paul Wirth in Meckenbeuren in the Reute district. Initially it produced and manufactured cooling and acoustic rooms. Later, due to seasonal fluctuations, small steel structures and pipelines were commissioned. An internal company spin-off emerged from this separate department. The company P+W Metallbau was finally founded on January 1, 1983. This mainly manufactured steel components and smaller containers made of stainless steel and aluminum. Due to the expanded range of services and the production of ever larger silos as well as a constantly growing customer base, the company moved to its current site in the Ehrlosen industrial area. The buildings and the new production tower were designed so that large container construction could begin.

Today

Today, P+W Metallbau, a medium-sized, owner-managed company, consists of a team of over 140 employees.
We produce over 500 silos and containers every year with a diameter of up to 6,500 mm and a height of 30,000 mm. For larger dimensions, the silos are no longer assembled in our factory, but rather directly on site at your site. The company premises cover 60,000 m² including 5 production halls with an area of 4,500 m² and three production towers. Only the most modern computer-aided manufacturing techniques are used to manufacture the containers and silos, and our TÜV and DVS-certified welders and technicians do everything they can to implement the demanding and highly specialized requirements of our customers.
