Latsha - Differential Pressure Regulator
Function is to regulate the pressure drop created due to the differential across the Orifice of the Flow Control Valve. Differential Pressure Regulator [DPR] is provided to get stable reading across the Rotameter and also to regulate turbulent action of Vacuum to manageable level.
The accuracy of any chlorine metering system depends upon the consistency and repeatability of the density and velocity of gas at any given rate setting, which will in-turn, depend upon differential-pressure-regulator. The differential across the orifice (Flow-control Valve opening area) is automatically maintained within precise limits by Differential Pressure Regulator.
The other important function of this regulator is to reduce the highly turbulent action of the Injector vacuum to a steady manageable vacuum somewhat less than 625mm of Hg.
Further more, this Regulator maintains a constant vacuum on the down stream regardless of changes in water pressure in the Injector. If this function were not available, the metering rate through the Chlorinator would vary significantly with small changes in Injector operating pressure.
DPR comes with Chlorinators of capacities of 8 kgs/hr and above. In smaller capacities the pressure drop is negligible to provide DPR.
