The key feature of Leonardo design is the tailgate. During tipping, the tailgate is controlled by a mechanical rather than a hydraulic method: a patented system of cables, pulleys and hinges activated when raising the body and tailgate opening and lifting, which may be selected as either swing or gull-wing, to increase unloading flow. Raising and lowering the body generate the energy to activate tailgate opening. Simple. Genius.
S5 Leonardo Kit
S5 Leonardo is also available as a kit version, comprising a dump body, subframe, Spinnaker load cover and hydraulic components. The very versatile kit is easily transportable and can be installed by any garage. The S5 Leonardo Kit is especially indicated for overseas market.

The tailgate is fitted with an ingenious mechanical adjustment device that allows for three different opening positions:
- Swing-mode opening with raised tailgate hinging.Recommended solution for unloading bituminous conglomerate into the finishing machine.
- Intermediate gull-wing opening.Multiple use solution.
- Maximum gull-wing opening.Recommended solution for unloading bulky or weighty materials.
Cab guard intended for use with load cover and supplied in the most suitable size for holding the load cover when folded. The accessory depends on the model and brand of vehicle. Load cover NOT INCLUDED.
Attached in compliance to directives issued by competent authorities.
The vehicle is provided with product origin documentation and a type-test certificate for its registration. EC certification documentation is also provided.
Unless a different request is made, the OEM under-run protection bar will be retained as standard.
S5 EVO fits standard steel sideguards painted the same colour as the body. The sideguards are removable and easy to replace. At extra cost, stainless steel sideguards can be fitted.
Before painting, the body is given full sanding treatment.
The vehicle`s side clearance lights are integrated.
Accessory fitted in compliance with current legislation.
Manufactured in reinforced PVC, fitted in pairs and easy to replace.
After sanding and painting, the body is decorated with decals available in various colours, in shades to match the load cover, chosen by the customer.
Tailgate opening in sequence with tilting. Three opening options are available: pivoting only, semi-gullwing and gullwing.
