Levent - Tempered Glass
The tempering process includes heating and cooling steps to give pressure stress to the outer surfaces of the glass on the horizontal line and an indirect tensile stress to the middle of the glass. Fully tempered glass is approximately 5 times more durable than unprocessed glass; It is suitable for use as a safety glass because it breaks down in the size of a membrane and reduces the risk of injury. Technically, thermal tempering is carried out by heating the glass in a special oven (1150 ° F / 621 ° C) and then cooling it quickly by blowing air from both surfaces. Usage areas: All applications that need strength and security.
HEAT STRENGTHENED
The semi-tempering process so-called heat strengthened glass is produced by using different cooling stages. Semi-tempered glass is approximately 2 times more durable than unprocessed glass however does not fall into the safety glass class. When heat strengthened laminated glass is broken, the risk of falling is less than full tempering because the pieces are larger.
Usage areas: Skylights, office partitions, railing applications.
