Labcon SuperSlik - Low Retention Pipette Tips
Our SuperSlik Low Retention tips are made from our own proprietary formula non-wetable polypropylene. This exclusive resin limits the adhesion of cells, rDNA, proteins, and other viscous materials. Their accuracy and precision is up to 10 times better with viscous samples than standard non-wettable polypropylene. SuperSlik® tips have no additives or coatings that can loosen and migrate into your sample. And unlike other low retention tips SuperSlik® tips use no restricted chemicals.
SuperSlik® Tips were developed in our own laboratory and have been found to be ideal for viscous samples. The resin helps increase the contact angle of fluids and lets you dispense the maximum amount of sticky samples like DNA molecules.
The chart below shows an actual study comparing the performance of SuperSlik® tips compared with our standard polypropylene tips. This test used a viscous solution that is similar to a sticky protein rich solution you might use in the lab. This study showed that SuperSlik® tips have much better precision and accuracy than standard tips when working with this kind of sample.
Although SuperSlik® tips worked better in delivering consistent results with a viscous or sticky sample they may not be useful in situations when more aqueous samples are being pipetted. Always match your tips to your pipetting needs.
Our SuperSlik® tips in racks are packed in our trademarked Teal or Purple racks. These racks are made of polypropylene and are autoclavable repeatedly. They have sturdy latch hinges that won`t come apart like lesser quality tip racks and a special snap lock designed so that it will not catch on your gloves. You can also get SuperSlik® tips in resealable zip style bags, in Eclipse™ refills, and in racks that have been sterilized.
